Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)
Annual LCAP Updates
What is the LCAP?
The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is a three-year plan that outlines how our district sets goals, plans actions, and uses state funding to improve student outcomes. Every school district in California is required to develop an LCAP with input from students, families, staff, and community members.
The LCAP explains:
- Our goals for supporting student learning and well-being
- The steps we will take to reach those goals
- How funding—including the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF)—is used to support all students, with added support for English learners, foster youth, and low-income students
The LCAP is reviewed and updated each year so we can monitor our progress and respond to the needs of our school community.

ASJUSD’s Three LCAP Goal Areas
While each district’s goals are tailored to local needs, they are all organized around improving student success. Our district’s goals fall into three key areas:
- High-Quality Teaching & Learning: We ensure all students have access to standards-aligned instruction, effective teachers, and engaging academic programs. This includes classroom materials, professional development, intervention supports, and programs that help students achieve at high levels.
- Safe, Inclusive, and Supportive Learning Environments: We focus on creating schools where every student feels safe, connected, and supported. This includes mental health services, positive behavior supports, safe school facilities, and programs that promote belonging and well-being.
- Family & Community Engagement: We work to strengthen partnerships with families and community members. This includes clear communication, opportunities to participate in decision-making, family education events, and ongoing collaboration to support student success.
