School Accountability Report Card (SARC)
What Is a SARC?
Each year, every public school in California publishes a School Accountability Report Card (SARC). The SARC provides important information about each school’s performance, including:

- Student achievement data
- School climate and safety
- Teacher and staff information
- Curriculum and instructional materials
- Facility conditions
- Budget and expenditures
- Programs that support student learning
The purpose of the SARC is to help parents and community members understand how well our schools are serving students and how we are using resources to support learning.
In California, the SARC is a backward-looking report that provides information about a school’s performance, programs, and resources for public accountability.
Why SARCs Matter
SARCs support our commitment to transparency and continuous improvement. They help families:
- Learn more about their child’s school
- Compare information across schools
- Understand how state and federal funds support students
- See progress toward academic and climate goals
Families may request a printed copy of any SARC at their school office or the district office.
