Anti-Vaping Education & Prevention
Aromas-San Juan Unified School District is committed to helping students make informed, healthy choices. Vaping has become increasingly common among youth, and many students are unaware of the health risks associated with e-cigarettes and vaping products.
Our district provides education, resources, and support to prevent vaping and to help students who may need assistance quitting.
Why Vaping Is a Concern
Many vaping products contain nicotine, which is highly addictive and can impact brain development in adolescents. Some products may also contain harmful chemicals or unknown substances.
Vaping can affect:
- Brain development and attention
- Mental health and mood
- Lung health and overall wellness
- Prevention & Education
We recognize that some students may need support to stop using vaping products. Our goal is to provide guidance and resources—not just consequences.
Support may include:
- Conversations with school staff
- Referrals to counseling or support services
- Access to cessation resources and programs
- Partnering with Families
Families play an important role in prevention. Talking openly with your child about vaping and its risks can make a meaningful difference.

Safe School Environments
To support student health and safety, ASJUSD has implemented additional measures, including vape detection systems in school restrooms at select sites. These tools help staff respond quickly and provide support when concerns arise.
