ASJUSD follows a structured, collaborative process to develop instructional calendars that support student learning and family planning.

A Calendar Committee convenes every three years to develop options for a new three-year calendar cycle.

• The committee includes representatives from both bargaining units as well as district management.
• After reviewing instructional needs, contractual requirements, and community considerations, the committee drafts multiple calendar options.
• These options are sent to bargaining unit members for a vote.
• Once a final calendar is selected, it is submitted to the ASJUSD Governing Board for formal review and approval.
• Approved calendars are implemented in three-year cycles and posted for students, families, and staff.
