ADVISORY PROGRAM
Anzar's Advisory program ensures that our school is student-centered and focused on individual needs. Each student stays with an Advisor for the entire time he or she is at Anzar. The Advisor oversees class scheduling, college and scholarship advising, behavioral issues, testing preparation, graduation exhibitions, service learning placements, and other on-going issues. Authentic relationships grow between students and Advisors, as well as between parents and Advisors. This program is at the hub of Anzar, as it ensures that each student is thought of as an individual, and has an adult advocate at all times, no matter the circumstances. Advisories are typically about 20 - 25 students, and they meet daily, right after lunchtime. Grade level advisors work together to insure coordination of college-prep curriculum delivery during weekly sessions. Advisory is worth two units per semester.
