Welcome back, Aromas Families! Aromas School staff hopes that everyone had a wonderful summer break and were able to relax and enjoy some good quality family time. But...it's time to get our mindset back into school mode...the first day of school is this coming Thursday,
August 11th!

I wanted to give you an update on some staffing changes that have occurred at our site since we left in June:

*We are welcoming back Vanessa Ortiz to Aromas to teach 1st grade. Ms. Ortiz joined us during our hybrid model in the Spring of 2021. We are very excited that she has rejoined our awesome learning community.

*Caitlin Tungate has moved from our ELA Intervention position to teach kindergarten at Aromas again...and she is super excited to return to teaching our littlest Bulldogs.

*We are welcoming Kim Wilson to Aromas to teach 3rd grade. Ms. Wilson has been teaching over at San Juan School for several years, and we are glad that she made the decision to come join us here at Aromas.

*Our 4th/5th team currently has Ms. Dow (formerly DeAmaral) teaching a straight 4th grade class and Mr. Ulrich teaching a straight 5th grade class. We have opened up a 4th/5th combo class, and we are currently looking for a teacher to fill that position. If you know of anyone who is looking for a teaching job at an amazing school with an incredible team, please send them to EdJoin.org to apply!

*Corina Hernandez has moved into our 7th grade math and science position after the retirement of Mrs. Medeiros at the end of last year. Ms. Hernandez has previous middle school experience, and she is a great addition to our already amazing middle school team.

*Melanie Mahler and Alli Morella have moved into our Math Intervention teaching position. Ms. Mahler and Ms. Morella taught first grade last year, but we are very excited that they get to put their math expertise to work this year and helping our K-3 students work towards meeting their grade-level goals.

*Agostina Mantega has moved into our ELA Intervention teaching position from kindergarten, and she is looking forward to putting her years of intervention experience to good use, also working to help our K-3 students work towards meeting their grade-level goals.

I will be sending out a Welcome Back letter to parents on Monday giving more details about the first day of school...but remember to be on the blacktop by 8:15 a.m. Thursday morning! Parents are welcome to join their children on the blacktop and help us send them off to class with their new teacher. As it will be extremely busy in the parking lot, please make sure to use the main crosswalk up near the front of the school to enter campus safely.

See you at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, Thursday, August 11th!
