Clock

                                                                                      Happy Holidays!

Introducing the Hawk Clock, which was designed for, and built by woodshop students at Anzar High School. Each student builds two, late in the first semester. The first clock is for themselves; the second is to be sold ($60).

The proceeds of the second clock are applied directly to the purchase of materials designated for the building of desks. Again, each student will build two, one for themselves, and one to be donated to students in need.

These clocks and desks are purposely very different from what is typically associated with beginning woodworking classes. The purpose, aside from the educational value and generating funds for the shop, is to show students the power and dignity of skilled work, as a benefit to themselves, and to the community.

Students at Anzar High School are required to complete 160 hours of community service as a requirement for graduation. The time spent building the second clock and desk will be applied to their community service.

Thank you and happy holidays.
