Happy Summer Anzar students and families,

We hope that you are enjoying time away from school, some relaxation, exercise, and hopefully reading! This letter is being emailed, posted on the website, and mailed home to make sure as many families can access it as possible. 

  • We are working hard on Anzar’s campus this summer. A few projects, like exterior painting, and new camera and phone systems are in progress. We will be implementing a binder organization system in August so hold off on school supply shopping until you get your syllabi!

  • We welcome Ms. Julie Hicks as our new school guidance counselor! We are looking forward to her contribution to our campus.

  • First, communication between the school and families will happen primarily through ParentSquare. If you haven’t already, please download the app or make sure we have the correct email address and cell phone number for you in Aeries so that you get all of the relevant information.  For questions or concerns about student schedules, how students are doing in classes, etc. please reach out to your student’s advisor through ParentSquare or by email (firstinitiallastname@anzarhs.org) i.e. Acrawley@anzarhs.org. 

  • Speaking of Aeries, this is our Student Information System which we joined last year. In Aeries, you can find your student’s demographic information, attendance records, current grades, progress and report cards. To log in to Aeries, please use this website: https://aromassanjuanusd.aeries.net/ Make sure you are using the correct website otherwise you will not be able to log in. Make this a bookmark on your computer and on your phone please! Use the email address we have on file for you to login. If you don’t remember your password, click “forgot my password” and go to your email for instructions on resetting your password. If you need any assistance logging in, please stop by Anzar’s office once school begins so we can help you. 

  • Students, if you notice errors on your schedule (included in the letter mailed home - except for 9th graders) please contact your advisor by email asap! If your schedule is not included in the mailed documents, you may have an outstanding debt at school or you are an incoming 9th grader. The school office will be closed June 23rd-July 25th. If you would like to discuss your schedule, I am holding office hours on July 28th from 10am-12pm. 

  • Students who enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) courses, your summer assignments are due on the first day of school. 

  • Link Crew or Freshman Orientation is happening in the morning on August 11th. All 9th graders MUST attend Link Crew at Anzar High School at 8:30am on August 11th. During this time, 9th graders will receive their schedule, a tour of the campus, meet their teachers, and learn more about Anzar and their peers. 

  • Here is the schedule for the first few days of school. Please note that on the first day of school, we will have an altered schedule. Link Crew will take place on the first day of school beginning at 8:30am. ONLY 9th graders and Link Crew leaders will attend school from 8:30-11:30 am on August 11th. 10th-12th graders will begin school at 11:30am on August 11th.

  • For 9th graders, I have included a PE uniform order form. Bring it and your money on the second day of school

  • I have included a list of the “Important Dates to Remember” which is also found in the handbook. I hope you can mark these dates in your calendar or post this on your refrigerator for easy access.   • We are asked many times how families can purchase hawk gear. These items are sold by the Anzar High School Booster Club (which meets the first Tuesday of every month at 5pm in the library and can use your support!). Items may be purchased from their website: https://www.ecwid.com/store/anzarboosters/ You can also support the Anzar Booster Club with Amazon Smile purchases at: https://smile.amazon.com/. 5% of your eligible purchase total will be donated when you select the Parent Booster USA Inc. Anzar High School Booster Club as your foundation to support. 

  • The first day of school is Thursday, August 11, 2022. Please make sure this date is marked in your calendar.
