Dear San Juan School Community,

Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! My name is Ethan Stocks. I am very excited to introduce myself as the new principal of San Juan School. I have worked in public education for over 16 years as a high school English and Theater teacher, an assistant principal, a district office administrator, and most recently as an elementary school principal. In each of these roles, I have pursued the same goal that first drove me to become a teacher: the desire to provide an excellent education for every student.

Over the past few weeks, I have had the privilege to meet some of the amazing parents, teachers, and staff at San Juan School, while also learning about the school’s history and past successes. With each conversation, I have been struck by the immense enthusiasm and pride for our school. I look forward to meeting more of you as the year progresses. You’ll be able to find me each morning greeting students in front of the main office.

Though I have only been at San Juan School for a short time, it is already very clear to me that this is an amazing place to go to school. One reason why is that our focus is on preparing students for high school, college, and beyond by developing essential knowledge, skills, and behaviors in a safe, supportive environment. Teachers and staff are determined to deliver relevant, engaging curriculum and instruction while building strong relationships with all students and their families.

Of course, you also play an essential role in your child’s education. Your participation begins by making sure s/he arrives on time for school each day. Please drop off your child by 8:10 AM and pick him/her up promptly at the end of the school day. We encourage you to get involved in the school community through our Home and School Club, English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), School Site Council (SSC), or one of the many groups aimed at improving our school.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, and/or ideas you would like to discuss. Your feedback and support are essential to our continued improvement. I look forward to the great year ahead! The first day of school is August 11! See you then! Go Padres!

Sincerely,

Ethan Stocks
