2021 Inaugural Washington D.C. trip parent meeting. If your student forgot to go to the student meeting or you have more questions, on December 5th 6 pm in room 501 Mr. Huneywell and a World Strides representative will tell more about the trip and answer any questions you might have. As of 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, the power was restored at Aromas School and Anzar High School. School is scheduled to be in session tomorrow, Tuesday, October 29th.

We are in the middle of a statewide shut down of power by Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E). The power outage has impacted the two communities in our District. The Power went down in our community on Saturday evening, October 26, 2019, and is not expected to be on until after 2 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019. Anzar High School is on two different power grids; the well is on a different grid than the power. The well provides water to the school and is shut down due to the power outage. The District and school site administration has decided to close school on Monday, October 28, 2019.
At this time, school is anticipated to be in session on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, with transportation running according to the regular schedule.

Estamos en medio de un corte de energĂa en todo el estado por parte de de la compañĂa de gas y electricidad, Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E). El apagĂłn ha impactado a dos comunidades en nuestro Distrito. La electricidad fue cortada por la noche en nuestra comunidad el sábado, 26 de octubre de 2019, y no se espera que estĂ© encendida hasta despuĂ©s de las 2 p.m. el lunes 28 de octubre de 2019. La preparatoria Anzar está en dos redes elĂ©ctricas diferentes; El pozo está en una red diferente a la de la energĂa. El pozo proporciona agua a la escuela y esta cerrada debido al corte de energĂa. The District has received notification of a possible Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event. We will monitor the situation throughout the weekend with notifications to Aromas-San Juan Unified School District families regarding the impact on our schools, if any. At this time, please note that there is no identified impact. In the event we have any impacts on our schools, we will send out notifications via social media, email, the District, and school websites. All of these modes of communication are available on cell phones.
Anzar students may dress up for Halloween. However, students may not wear or bring masks or replica weapons. If you have questions, ask your Advisor.
Admission to future Anzar Football will increase for adults to $8 for adults, student admission will be $5, children ages 7-12 will be $3 & children 6 and under will be free. This will bring Anzar into compliance with PCAL by-laws Article 21 we apologize for any inconvenience.
We want to give a huge thank you to Mr. Tony Alameda who donated portable lights for Anzar's football game on October 19th.
Another huge thank you to Pizza Factory in San Juan Bautista. They have generously donated pizza for each of our football games this season!

The October 15th Board of Trustees meeting has been canceled and is currently being rescheduled. The rescheduled date will be posted once it has been established
Anzar students were at lunch during today's earthquake. We had a successful evacuation to the football field. Principal Crawley thanks Anzar students and staff for their cooperation and is extremely proud of how our campus handled today's situation. Go Hawks!

We have posted a power outage notification from PG&E on our website for your review. In summary, the announcement identified the potential for power outages in the adjacent counties of Santa Cruz and Santa Clara counties. The notification does not include San Benito County. However, we are so close to both counties an unintentional power outage could occur, although not likely. This information is passed along to you in an abundance of caution. If a power outage ensues, you will receive information via our all-call system.
Please check the District and school site websites for updated information as it becomes available.
Two excellent "Parent University" events are coming soon at Anzar High School through ASJUSD counseling (10/15 and 11/14). Themes include mental health and substance abuse.
