Dear ASJUSD Family: Schools will be open tomorrow, Monday, March 13, 2023. We understand that a few areas remain impacted by the flooding (Murphy Hill, for example.) and we will respect parent decisions to keep children home, if necessary. The current forecast for Monday night into Tuesday is concerning, however. If that weather event materializes, we will close schools on Tuesday and confirm that Monday evening. Dear ASJUSD Families and Employees: After reviewing all of the information we have obtained from emergency weather websites and observations by our staff on current conditions, I am making the decision to close our schools for FRIDAY MARCH 10, 2023 for all students and staff, with the exception of custodial staff, groundskeepers and limited administrative team members to oversee any site issues or problems. We have some unique geographical challenges compared to our neighboring districts which have weighed heavily on my decision. Safety is of the utmost concern for our students, their families, and our employees. Please continue to take safety precautions to keep you and your household safe. At this time, we expect to be back in session on Monday, March 13th. I will keep you posted if there are any changes to this plan.
