Dear Aromas Families— In partnership with Governor Newsom, Parents Anonymous Inc. recently launched the California Parent & Youth Helpline and Online Parents Anonymous Support Groups in response to the coronavirus to provide free trauma-informed, evidence-based emotional support to parents, children and youth in any language via calls, text, live chat and email. The California Parent & Youth Helpline operates seven days a week from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Parents can join a weekly online support group now through the website: caparentyouthhelpline.org. In this confidential setting, parents address their underlying emotions and build resiliency to strengthen their family. Dear Aromas Families: Starting Monday, August 17th, the District’s food service will be providing meals for pick-up between 11:30-1:00 in the Aromas School parking lot. Children do not need to be present in the car for parents to receive meals, but you should have the student ID numbers for all children receiving food. Parents are still required to provide payment for paid or reduced meal prices based on the Meal Application that was submitted last year. Please make sure to fill out a new lunch application before the deadline for this school year. Please contact Janie Cecena, the District’s Food Service Manager, at 623.4402 with questions. Good evening, Aromas Families— This is a reminder that our Parent Information night will be held virtually Tuesday, August 11th, at 6:00 p.m. A link to the meeting will be posted on our school website Monday morning. A translation service will be available. Our two kindergarten orientations will be held virtually Monday, August 10th. The meeting for parents of students in Mrs. Mantega’s class will be held at 4:30 p.m. The meeting for parents of students in Mrs. Lee’s class will be held at 5:30 p.m. Translation services will be available for both meetings. This is a reminder that any student in grades 6 through 8 may come to Aromas School on Monday, August 10th, to pick up a Chromebook if needed. Computers may be picked up between 4-6:00 p.m. A refundable $25 insurance deposit is recommended at the time of pick-up to cover the cost of any possible damage. Cash or checks made out to “ASJUSD” will be accepted. Students and parents will also be asked to sign a District Technology Use Agreement at the time of computer pick-up.
