Our Aromas K-5 teachers would like to have a teacher send-off parade tomorrow, Thursday, June 4th, in the Aromas School parking lot from 11:00-1:00 p.m. Teachers will be parked in the stalls next to Carpenteria Street. All K-5 parents are encouraged to come drive through the parking lot with their children to say good-bye to their teachers. We hope to see you all there!

ASJUSD is conducting a survey of our distance learning model that kept our students engaged during the school closure to help us prepare for next year. We will be relying upon State and local health agencies for information that will help us determine the best model for opening our District's schools. The school year will begin on August 13, 2020, as previously scheduled. We are currently reviewing options for the next school year and will provide additional information as soon as it is available. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided to all children in Aromas Monday-Friday from 10:30-12:30. Food will be distributed in bus lane in parking lot. Child must be present in car for food to be distributed.
The Open House/Science Fair event scheduled for this Thursday, March 12th, has been canceled. It will be rescheduled for late spring. Please see the NEWS section of our website for more information.
Today's soccer game against Spring Grove has been canceled due to rain.
Anzar High School is having a movie night for all District students and their families this Friday, November 22nd from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Room 206. The movie "Coco" will be shown. Tickets start at $5.00.
As of 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, the power was restored at Aromas School and Anzar High School. School is scheduled to be in session tomorrow, Tuesday, October 29th.

Good evening Aromas Families,
We are in the middle of a statewide shut down of power by Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E). The power outage has impacted the two communities in our District. The Power went down in our community on Saturday evening, October 26, 2019, and is not expected to be on until after 2 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019. The District and school site administration has decided to close school on Monday, October 28, 2019. This closure includes the Mi Escuelita Pre-K School located on the Aromas School campus.
At this time, school is expected to be in session on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, with transportation running according to the regular schedule. The school and District websites will be updated related to the power outages.

Estamos en medio de un corte de energía en todo el estado por parte de la compañía de gas y electricidad, Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E). El apagón ha impactado a dos comunidades en nuestro Distrito. La electricidad fue cortada por la noche en nuestra comunidad el sábado, 26 de octubre de 2019, y no se espera que esté encendida hasta después de las 2 p.m. el lunes 28 de octubre de 2019. El distrito y la administración de la escuela an decidido cerrar la escuela el lunes 28 de octubre de 2019. Este cierre incluye a Mi Escuelita Pre-K ubicada en de la escuela Aromas.

The District has received notification of a possible Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event. We will monitor the situation throughout the weekend with notifications to Aromas-San Juan Unified School District families regarding the impact on our schools, if any. At this time, please note that there is no identified impact. In the event we have any impacts on our schools, we will send out notifications via social media, email, the District, and school websites. All of these modes of communication are available on cell phones.
The October 15th Board of Trustees meeting has been canceled and is currently being rescheduled. The rescheduled date will be posted once it has been established
There will be two lunch menu changes in October. Tomorrow and Thursday's lunches will be switching: tomorrow is the taco salad and Thursday will be breaded chicken. For the last week in October, the Tuesday lunch will be spaghetti and Thursday's lunch will be the sausage biscuit.
The Aromas Home & School Club meeting originally scheduled for this Tuesday, October 1, at 6:00 p.m. has been changed to next Tuesday, October 8, at 6:00 p.m. in the library.
To Aromas Families: Due to a gas leak on campus, we are sending all students home for their safety. Our Student Information system is offline so we are unable to make all-calls to parents to pick up their children. Please come to the gym to sign out your child(ren) as soon as possible. PG&E is currently on site and the issue is being addressed. We thank you for your understanding, and we will make an all-call to all families as soon as our system comes back on line.

A Facilities Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 6 p.m. in the San Juan School library to continue the discussion regarding solar energy
The Aromas-San Juan Unified School District covers approximately 100 square miles in western San Benito County, northern Monterey County, and eastern Santa Cruz County. The District includes the city of San Juan Bautista in San Benito County, the unincorporated community of Aromas in Monterey County, and other unincorporated areas in its three-county territory. The majority of the District's land area is in San Benito County.
