Buenos días, padres de Aromas. Para nuestras familias que viven en Carr Avenue, hay un poste de luz caído y nuestro autobús no puede pasar. Nuestro departamento de transporte tiene una pequeña camioneta que puede transportar a los estudiantes a la escuela esperando al final de la calle. Se necesitarán varios viajes para llevar a todos los estudiantes a la escuela, ya que es una camioneta pequeña. Gracias de antemano por su paciencia y comprensión mientras trabajamos para que nuestros estudiantes lleguen a la escuela de manera segura.
Good morning, Aromas Parents--For our families that live on Carr Avenue, there is a light pole down and our bus cannot get through. Our transportation department has a small van that can transport students to school waiting at the end of Carr. It will require several trips to get all students to school as it is a small van. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we work to get our students to school safely.
Solar Eclipse Monday April 8th - Safety Reminders
On Monday, April 8th, there will be a partial solar eclipse visible in our area. While witnessing such a rare event can be incredibly exciting and educational, it's essential to ensure the safety of our students during this time.
Ensuring student safety during the solar eclipse is critical. The District will be providing ISO certified eclipse glasses for our students at Aromas and San Juan Schools. We ask that parents and guardians review safety procedures with their students, especially regarding eye safety. Looking directly at the sun, even during an eclipse, can cause serious eye damage or even blindness. It's imperative that students understand to not attempt to view the eclipse without proper eye protection. We recommend using ISO-certified solar viewing glasses which the District will be providing at the elementary sites.
Teachers and staff will be closely monitoring students during the eclipse. We kindly ask for your cooperation in reinforcing the importance of following their instructions regarding eclipse viewing.
Alternative Viewing Methods: If you prefer your child not to participate in outdoor eclipse viewing activities, please notify us in advance. We will provide alternative indoor activities to ensure their safety.
Educational Opportunity: Some of our teachers will be incorporating the solar eclipse into our curriculum, providing students with age-appropriate information about this phenomenon. It's a fantastic chance for them to learn about astronomy and the natural world.

In preparation for the coming rain storms, Graniterock has generously donated 25 tons of sand to help community members protect their homes. They also will be delivering more sandbags later today. In anticipation of heavy rain this weekend, Graniterock is generously donating sand and sandbags to assist homeowners and renters with barricading possible flood zones on their property. The sand and sandbags will be available in the upper parking lot of Aromas School and also at the Aromas Sports Park. Delivery is anticipated early this afternoon.
