As of 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, the power was restored at Aromas School and Anzar High School. School is scheduled to be in session tomorrow, Tuesday, October 29th.

Good evening Anzar Students and Families, We are in the middle of a statewide shut down of power by Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E). The power outage has impacted the two communities in our District. The Power went down in our community on Saturday evening, October 26, 2019, and is not expected to be on until after 2 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019. Anzar High School is on two different power grids; the well is on a different grid than the power. The well provides water to the school and is shut down due to the power outage. The District and school site administration has decided to close school on Monday, October 28, 2019. At this time, school is anticipated to be in session on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, with transportation running according to the regular schedule. Buenas tardes Anzar Estudiantes y Familias, Estamos en medio de un corte de energía en todo el estado por parte de de la compañía de gas y electricidad, Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E). El apagón ha impactado a dos comunidades en nuestro Distrito. La electricidad fue cortada por la noche en nuestra comunidad el sábado, 26 de octubre de 2019, y no se espera que esté encendida hasta después de las 2 p.m. el lunes 28 de octubre de 2019. La preparatoria Anzar está en dos redes eléctricas diferentes; El pozo está en una red diferente a la de la energía. El pozo proporciona agua a la escuela y esta cerrada debido al corte de energía. The District has received notification of a possible Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event. We will monitor the situation throughout the weekend with notifications to Aromas-San Juan Unified School District families regarding the impact on our schools, if any. At this time, please note that there is no identified impact. In the event we have any impacts on our schools, we will send out notifications via social media, email, the District, and school websites. All of these modes of communication are available on cell phones.

PG&E has posted a power outage notification.The outage notification does not include San Benito County. We are so close to both counties an unintentional power outage could occur. If a power outage ensues you will receive information via our all-call system.

Dear Parents, P G & E has unfortunately not been able to restore power to San Juan School. As a result of the loss of power and the extreme heat conditions, we will be releasing students early today. Release time for all grades K - 8 will be at NOON today. Buses will be running the usual routes, so your child will take the bus of they usually do, just at noon. Parent pick ups in the parking lot will proceed as usual, but at 12 noon.  Any child not picked up will be supervised until parents arrive. Good morning parents Sometime during the night, a truck hit a power pole near San Juan School causing a power outage. At this time the power still has not been restored and we do not have an estimated time for restoration. We will still have classes this morning and will be monitoring the situation as the day proceeds. In the event of an early release day bus transportation will be provided. Please be on the alert for a possible early release day. We apologize for the inconvenience but truly appreciate your patience and cooperation.   Buenos dias padres Durante la noche, un camión chocó contra un poste de energía cerca de la escuela San Juan, causando un corte de energía en la escuela. En este momento, la energía aún no se ha recuperado y no tenemos un tiempo estimado para la restauración. Todavía tendremos clases esta mañana y estaremos monitoreando la situación durante el día. To Aromas Families: Due to a gas leak on campus, we are sending all students home for their safety. Our Student Information system is offline so we are unable to make all-calls to parents to pick up their children. Please come to the gym to sign out your child(ren) as soon as possible. PG&E is currently on site and the issue is being addressed. We thank you for your understanding, and we will make an all-call to all families as soon as our system comes back on line.
