Board and Superintendent Joint Message August 21, 2022 The Board of Trustees of the Aromas-San Juan Unified School District and Dr. Michele Huntoon, Superintendent of the District, wish to inform the staff and the community of our District that Dr. Huntoon has accepted a position with a District in the Bay area and will be starting her new position on Monday, August 22. The Board congratulates Dr. Huntoon on her career move and thanks her for the six years of leadership she has provided to the District. During her tenure with the District, Dr. Huntoon has achieved many positive advances in the District. Dr. Huntoon has agreed to provide the District with a smooth transition to new leadership. On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, the Board will meet to discuss the selection of an interim superintendent to serve until a permanent superintendent is appointed. Dr. Huntoon has offered to be available to assist the CBO Consultant, Acting Superintendent, and Interim Superintendent with the transition. Beginning on Monday, August 22, 2022, Angela Crawley will serve as acting superintendent until an interim is selected.

As you may know, San Juan School has been steadily growing over the past few years. While we are very pleased that so many families have chosen to send their students to school here, this growth has created some unexpected challenges. I am writing to you because we have a growing number of 4th grade students this year, and we are seeking volunteers to consider attending Aromas School for the 2022-23 school year. Bib pick up will also be available on the morning of the race beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the start line (in front of the San Juan School Soccer Field).
